Quepos is a vibrant town with everything to offe: bars, restaurants, food market and a football pitch, not mentioning the seaside. The name of the town comes from tribe quepoa which has slowly declined from European diseases and slavery.
Got up early to catch the first bus to the “Manuel Antonio” National Park feeling like a dead man. The cold got worse. Regardless of it, I spent 3 hours walking through the park. Very picturesque, small and easy to walk around, specially for the older visitors. Lots of lovely beaches and the town of Maniuell Antonio itself is lovely. Packed with tourists, from backpackers to top end travellers..
Decided to stay another day due to the fever and terrible throat. Slept most of the afternoon after taking some strong medication.
Feeling a fraction better went around the town to get some Halls Eucalyptus and quality nutrition, full of vitamins and fresh products. Also got some stinky garlic, and managed to eat 3 heads of it within 24 hours ! Not an easy one. It’s hard to believe that you can get a nasty virus like this in the tropics!? Another stroll around the town: it was Friday night, so I think I looked a bit out of place. Most of the locals dressed up and my bleached sporty outfit and a garlic smell did not fit in that well. The bar next to the hotel had a gay theme, but it was nice to sit next to it and use their free wifi. Its not a great feeling looking at the whole town kicking off the party when I couldn`t join in. Left to watch Spanish tele in the hotel. booooooooooo.
